Czarina Cultura 3 months agoThe food was pretty good. A lot of flavor, not too salty, and there was quite a variety. However, the service was odd and they charged us for a few things that we didn't order. First they charged us for tea, which is free in almost every Chinese restaurant in the area. We also didn't order tea, that was the first thing they brought us when we sat down. They also charged us a service charge. There was only 2 of us and we split the checks but each check had a service charge. I don't typically mind service charges especially for big groups but there was only 2 of us and there was no sign on the menu or by the register that says that they charge it. The waitress also gave us an attitude the whole time even though we were acting pretty normal. Weird and scammy service for sure. Such good food and I love that they're open late but I would not want to get scammed again.
Owen Thompson 8 months agoGreat option after sporting events! Chinatown is flooded with hungry fans some nights and this restaurant is a good place to go if you’re one of them. Friendly service, hot tea, generous portions of delicious food. It’s a little sticky in places but so are you. I highly recommend the huge shrimp and big flavorful bowls of congee.
Michael Chun 3 months agoThe food was good and arrived really quickly after we ordered. Just be sure to check your receipt at the end. I just paid and didn't check until later and paid $115 for 4 dim sum dishes and some seafood chow mein. 😅
Shan Fu 6 months agoI am so happy for going into this restaurant on the first day of 2026. We experienced very friendly staff and top tier authentic Asian style dim-sum brunch. I will definitely visit again for brunch or afternoon tea. The existing reviews must have been under rated.
kailee 7 months agoPurple Dot Cafe is always reliable, Great late-night spot with tasty food and fast service. The staff is available and the atmosphere is cozy. They raised the prices of the small menu from $5 to $7 but the sizes are the same.
