We had an excellence meal at Din Tai Fung - it was one of our favorite experiences in Seattle. The soup dumplings were amazing. We also had the cucumber salad, the green beans (excellent) and some pork buns. The fried rice was probably the most basic/not super flavorful. But everything else was excellent and I would eat here again.

We went with a big group here, and ordered what seemed to be almost everything on the menu. I've been to the Bellevue location before, and have had a smaller sampling of items, so it was cool to be able to try so many different things here Starting with the xiao long bao - what they're famous for - these were solid. The outside was very good, having a soft skin and clearly hand-breaded. I did think the soup on inside was kind of lacking though; there wasn't much inside. But in each of the types of dumplings that I had (pork, chicken, and crab), the meat filling was indeed very good inside. The pork and crab were particularly great. The wontons I liked less. The spicy sauce wasn't really that spicy, and the dough tastes a little harder with the filling being less juicy than the dumplings. I had both the pork and chicken wontons but wasn't a huge fan. I had a couple pork appetizers/sides as well. The baby back ribs were really good, being juicy and that sweet glaze was a perfect coating. The pork chop wasn't as good though - it was pretty dry. Not a huge fan of the green beans either As far as traditional mains, the chicken fried rice was exceptional. The rice gave off a great umami, MSG-infused flavor with both the eggs and chicken being incorporated super well. I think the fried rice might've actually been my favorite part of the meal. I did not like the fried noodles though, they were kind of tough and tasted pretty bland. Lastly, for dessert, I had the mango shaved ice and chocolate mochi dumplings. Both were very good. The chocolate dumplings in particular were actually much better than the last time I had it - in these the chocolate was melted super well and practically goozed out of the dumpling at the first hole. The mango shaved ice was super sweet, yet still generally held its shape despite being mostly ice. The meal ended up being very expensive due to the amount of sharing. That's the one thing about this place - for each dish, the portions are pretty small, so you need to end up ordering a lot for the table to make everything worth it. Overall, it's an expensive place, but it's got a pretty unique experience and I really enjoyed some of these dishes. 8/10

WOW! this is a must visit for seattle. Hands down the best restaurant I've been at on the last few years. Dumplings are all hand made, all sauces are Michelin level, protein selection is amazing. Service was great as well with spot-on recommendations.

Amazing meal. I went solo with no reservation and was seated at the bar. I had a lychee martini, cucumber salad, and pork soup dumplings. Yes, the price is high, but these were genuinely the best soup dumplings I have ever had. The dumpling dough was delicate but still strong enough to hold everything together. Every dumpling was full of soup, with the most tender pork filling that basically melted in my mouth. The cucumber salad was flavorful and refreshing, and the lychee martini was delicate and perfectly balanced. Absolutely worth it.

Absolutely delicious. The xiao long bao was exactly what I needed after a long flight. The I had the wonts twice thats how good it was. They say it was spicy but it just had a tiny hint of spice. Perfect meal post a long flight. Location is in a quiet mall on the 4th floor. Which was eerily quiet for a mall. Spacious often with a few mins wait up to 15 mins. But theres plenty of places to seat. Service was great. Everyone is attentive and happy. Definitely added to the experience. Super friendly!
