The food is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised at amount of food we got. The service is good and the food comes out quickly. We were on vacation, were hungry and intentionally got off the train in Chinatown. We asked someone where we could get the best Chinese food and she recommended Jade Garden. I initially selected a dish that included fish and the host asked me if I had ever had the fish before. When I said no, he recommended that I select something else because it had a strong flavor so I went with a dish I recognized. The rice noodles with chicken was absolutely delicious as was the fried rice. There was more chicken than I have had at restaurants in the state where I live. And the chicken was in large chunks and very tender.

Jade Garden was absolutely when we got there, but thankfully they have a lot of tables, so the line moved pretty quickly. The dim sum here was delicious across the board. Every dish came out fresh, hot, and flavorful, which made the whole experience really satisfying. The highlight for us was definitely the chicken feet - soft, flavorful, and honestly tasted just like the ones we’ve had in Hong Kong. Overall, a really solid dim sum spot in Seattle, and we’ll definitely be back for more.

I first found this place through Lonely Planet, and I’m really glad I trusted that recommendation. I came here with my husband, and the food turned out to be truly authentic. We ordered the lobster, and honestly—it was exceptionally good. Fresh, flavorful, and done the right way. It’s hard to find this level of taste, and this dish alone made the visit worth it. I’ve noticed something interesting in the U.S.: many of the most authentic Chinese restaurants—whether for dim sum or Sichuan food—often sit around a 4.1–4.3 rating. That’s usually because people complain about service. Personally, I don’t care about that at all. What matters to me is whether my mouth is happy, and this place absolutely delivered. Also, if you’ve ever eaten in Hong Kong, you know servers don’t greet you with big smiles or constantly check on you—and that’s completely normal. I don’t need small talk. I come for real food, and this is the real thing. If you care about authentic flavors more than fancy service, this place is a gem.

3.5 stars. Most dishes are what you expect, but then the egg tarts are very small. We didnt get anything that was stand-out good. Rice rolls were a bit mushy, salted egg yolk was grainy, and egg tarts had very little filling due to their size. Beef stir-fry and vegetables were fine. Prices were about $18 per dish. It seems that this place may be more popular with non-Chinese crowds for dinner, as looking around, the fried rice portions were huge seemed popular. Not sure if I'd come back. Coming from the bay, I'd want larger portions for this quality and size. Maybe more dim sum dishes would have been better.

Dim Sum was good. What surprised me was an extra 3% fee added when paying by credit card. This wasn't mentioned anywhere before ordering. Transparency matters, especially with added fees. Sharing this so others are not surprised 😲
