I'm a bit surprised at how good the Mongolian Beef from this restaurant was. There was actually a ton of flavor in the sauce - spicy, salty, and sweet notes all coming through each of the individual pieces. The flavor was obviously helped by the copious amounts of oil used, but thankfully it never hit that line where it feels excessive. It manages to stay within the boundary of not pooling oil everywhere. The beef itself is very good. It's not dry at all, and is able to absorb a ton of the sauce. I could honestly just eat the pieces itself straight out of the dish and be satisfied. The voluptuous amounts of onions and other sauteed vegetables add a much needed crunchy texture and unique flavors here as well. Mixing this with rice and eating it is very good. Also, the portion size is just massive. I was able to take half of this home and eat it across another full meal. The price being under $20 for what you get here is a great deal. Overall, I did not expect to like this dish this much, but it turned out to be pretty great. 8.5/10

If you lean more toward flavorful well cooked Chinese food, eat here. If you’re more concerned with what material is used for the chairs, the paintings on the wall and if Taylor Swift like soft music is playing while you eat, go elsewhere! Beef Chow Fun and Clay Pot Rice rolls with braised beef brisket, can’t miss! Yu Choy w/garlic this time, but best combo is to go with the garlic pea vines.

The Beef Chow Fun was great. The only thing I would change is using less oil. The Beef Brisket and Wonton Noodle Soup’s noodles were chewier than expected, but otherwise good. The Seafood with XO Sauce Stone Pot Rice (Bo Zai Fan) was excellent. The crispy rice (fan ziu) had the right amount of crunch. I appreciated the heads up that the Stone Pot Rice could take up to 30 minutes to prepare. The free tea was a nice bonus. The staff only interacted with us to take our order and bring our food out. Honestly, we only came here because two other places I wanted to try in the International District had long waitlists. Meanwhile, this place had no wait. I counted only three other groups eating here on a Friday night, which seems like a red flag. One more thing, the restaurant’s name confused me. I originally wanted to try “A+ Hong Kong Kitchen” but ended up here “A+ HK Restaurant.” The employees spoke Mandarin, which felt a little odd since they sell a lot of Cantonese dishes. The prices are pretty good. Overall, I would say it’s fine, but the International District has better options.

Hainan chicken!!! Rice was good flavor. Soup was not as rich of a chicken broth as I hoped but was ok. Good flavor on the chicken. Usual street parking on the ID. Good space, not crammed in. Service was good too. Will try other dishes next time

Great food options here. Highly recommend getting the deep fried chow mein with house sauce. The food is cheap and the service is quick.
