Peking City Chinese Restaurant

After a long meeting in Virginia Beach and looking for a great Chinese restaurant. Peking City was a perfect choice. I had the whole restaurant to myself. I had the a cup of wonton soup and Happy Delight (shrimp, scallops, beef and chicken) I asked them to make it spicy. I also had wonton soup and it was very flavorful. I didn't have to add soy sauce for flavor. It was really great flavor. The Happy Delight was super delicious! All ingredients were packed with flavor! My dish came with fried rice which was perfectly cooked. The menu prices are very reasonable. The restaurant was super busy with take out orders and that's why I was the only dine customer. That being said, my food came quick and was beautiful plated. The atmosphere was on the dull side and super quiet. There was no traditional Chinese music playing. The restaurant has very nice decor and very spacious. Peking City restaurant is located in a shopping center and there is plenty of parking spaces. I recommend 👌 Enjoy 😉

I really like this place. I've actually been coming here for over 30 years. I just realized today. It's always been a go to for lunch. It's a nice quaint atmosphere.The service is good and some of the food is good. Recently I stop in every once in a while for lunch. Their quality is really lacking in a couple of areas which would be easy for them to fix. If you order the chicken wraps, the last time I was there, I ordered them, and the lettuce was all white and red old lettuce, and they looked at me like I was crazy when I said, bring me some fresh lettuce. Today the 2 pieces of lettuce on top were fine, underneath were the old white and red lettuce. Ridiculous. Like they think the customer won't notice. Really? The chef wants to use old vegetables. I also got a lunch hunan chicken to bring home. The mushrooms are as old as they can be. The black you see in my photographs is the mushroom black nearly inedible. In fact, they're concerning to eat. This is because they won't use fresh vegetables, they want to serve all their old vegetables. The chef really should be ashamed of himself and it probably should be inspected. Stop using your old vegetables that should go in the garbage!!!

I stopped in around 2:45, just in time for their lunch specials that run till 3. For $9.95 you get a choice from the lunch menu plus soup and an egg roll, which is a great deal. I ordered the shrimp egg foo young and it was really tasty. Just not something I would go wow.the Chinese crunch soup noodles are cooked fresh. The service was warm and the place was very clean. It was also nice to find a Chinese restaurant you can actually sit down in. They have six tables and six booths, and one of the tables can seat a group of six. Overall, a really nice experience.

As much as we like to indulge in Chinese Cuisine and it had a great atmosphere service was pleasant but food was subpar. My wife did not enjoy. One of the people in my party was insulted by a local because they claim she had a elbow in the table messing up our experience during dining.

I ordered the shrimp fried rice. I was given hard scorned rice. This was my 1st time going and will be my last. Never seen a Chinese restaurant not properly cook rice. Please save your money and go anywhere but here. I have provided the pictures showing it was uncooked.
