We were being tourist for the day and decided to visit this little gem downtown. Hadn’t been here in years. Had a taste of their Golden Star Special, fish and gravy. Sounds weird but to be honest it was pretty good. It was a light battered crunchy fish, we asked for sauce on the side. I thought very tasty. We also had their wonton soup, one of the best soups I’ve had in a while, combination fried rice, was lacking in taste & pepper chicken very tasty. Overall not bad at all. The service was great.

Food is amazing every since I was a youngin golden star is always great .food delicious clean environment and great service don't be hesitant go try golden star you won't regret it!!!

Golden Star is a family favorite, I've been going since I was a little kid. Lots of parking and quick service. The #52 fish with gravy is always delicious. The shrimp fried rice is also very delicious. They have a variety of American, Mexican, and Chinese dishes on the menu.

Last night I took my family to Golden Star Cafe, we have always been loyal customers since the 70s and every time we go we easily spend over $100. The man in the front has become more rude over time. My family and I felt uncomfortable the whole time with him staring at us. Things are changing for the worse there. The customer service is horrible now. I don’t recommend until they fix their problems and not to mention the restrooms are horrible they smell like sewer gases as well as the entire restaurant. I am concerned and will be making a report to the health department and BBB. Also the woman owner was rushing us to pay acting like we were a bother and was being rude to the waitress. I won’t be spending my hard earned money here for the prices and experience it’s simply not worth it. Very sad it has come to this. We used to love coming here. Better off going to a steak house it would be cheaper and better quality.

Good place to sit down and eat and chitchat with friends. Their fried rice options are all good and so is their fried fish plate. Pros: Good food, good service and a juke box for some music. Plenty of parking along with handicapped parking. Cons: The restroom needs to be cleaned more often and better freshener. Be prepared to be approached by the homeless near by for money or food when security isn't available.
