Regan Liss 3 weeks agoMy family often craves good dumplings. This place was a first time for us and we were very happy with the food! We ended up getting the spicy chili wontons, spicy chili dumplings, beef chow fun, and the appetizer short ribs. All of it was amazing. The dumplings and wontons were very spicy for me, but it was a good pain while eating, just needed a little extra water 🤣 the beef chow fun is a new favorite as well, and my dad really enjoyed the short ribs. I will definitely be back!! If you like dumplings, they have several more options that we didn’t try yet, that I’m sure are just as good! We went on a Saturday and the parking lot was full! But we were able to find a spot within a couple minutes of driving around the lot.
zerofever “Isadoriana” peligrie a month agoYour mileage may vary but we had an amazing food experience here and absolutely be back again. There is an iPad for a wait list and 2 larger screen takeout order screens to the right of the door. The table wait felt a bit long to wait but it's because it was packed and seats are fewer than the diners who wanted to eat there but there IS seating. It's just limited. As a TIP: you can always get takeout from the order screens and go sit at the seats around the inside of the cafe area and other nook spots if you want to eat inside the complex. Just *please* remember to pick up after yourself for the convenience of a place to sit and eat more quickly if you do that. The staff doesn't service that area. :) Be kind to the rest of the employees and people who work and want to eat here
Karen D 3 months agoWOW!! My taste buds LOVE this place! Beef is sooo flavorful. The spicy beef soup was hot and alive! Best noodles in AZ, I’m so impressed by the chewiness and tender texture of the noodles. The tiny restaurant was packed & busy with Togo orders, yet the service was excellent. Every single employee was courteous and friendly while keeping everything moving & water glasses full. Dishes are made to order and so there is a small wait. Less crowded on weekdays when it might be better to try it. A definite MUST!
Jackson Louie a month agoGreat place the XLB’s were great! Had to eat them fast because the bottom skin was weak and would leak if you didn’t get to them fast. I ordered the noodle bowl with tomato and egg, then added beef. It would have been nice to have the beef stir fried with it, instead they put it on the side. I’ll still come back!
Marcelino B 2 months agoI came here because, like most of the Phoenix metropolitan area, getting a reservation at Din Tai Fung is like trying to get BTS tickets during presale, good luck, stay blessed. So to get our Xiao Long Bao fix, we searched far and wide, doom scrolled through TikTok until we found Happy Bao’s. It’s inside Mekong Plaza and has solid reviews. My baby boo and I were promptly seated. There’s a very convenient QR code at the table where you can place your order (love that for us). We ordered the Xiao Long Bao, cucumber salad, spicy dumplings, and beef noodles. The Xiao Long Bao are AMAZING. Outta this world so juicy and flavorful, they honestly give Din Tai Fung a run for their money. These are a MUST try. We were not disappointed. The cucumber salad was super refreshing, perfect crunch, lowkey the palate cleanser we didn’t know we needed. The beef noodles had a nice smoky flavor, seasoned just right. The noodles were soft and delicious, definitely worth ordering. Now…the spicy dumplings? Big oof. They were really gummy with an awkward texture. We’ve seen them look way better on TikTok, so idk what happened here. Not our favorite, but also didn’t ruin the dinner. If you’re craving dim sum and don’t feel like fighting for your life to get into Din Tai Fung, this is the spot.
