Sad experience at P.F. Chang’s for Mother’s Day brunch. We made our reservations a month in advance. At 9:58 a.m. on the day of our reservation, I called to request patio seating because I needed to bring my 16-year-old senior Chihuahua with me. When we arrived for our 11:00 a.m. reservation, we were escorted to the patio and seated. I was honestly shocked by the condition of the patio area. Every surface was covered in a thick layer of dust. There were spider webs everywhere — in the corners of the ceiling beams, hanging from the lights, underneath the table, and woven throughout the chairs. There were even large white spider egg sacs visible overhead. The ceiling fans were broken, filthy, and covered in webs, with two fans missing blades. Thankfully, the fans were not running, because if they had been, dirt and webs would have been blowing onto us. My brother asked if we could be seated elsewhere due to the condition of the patio, but we were told there was nowhere else available because of the Chihuahua. We stayed and ordered anyway. My 80-year-old mother was talking about how meaningful it was to have both of her children with her on Mother’s Day — something that rarely happens because we both work in public service careers (RN and CHP) and are often unable to spend the holiday together due to work. Then I looked down and saw three black widow spiders crawling out of the woven chair toward my mother’s leg. I immediately jumped up and pulled my mother away. We checked all of our clothing and belongings and notified the manager. At that point, I had to leave the restaurant with my Chihuahua while the rest of my family went inside to finish their meal. What shocked me further was that despite the obvious safety issue and ruined experience, my family was still charged the full $237 bill. I am deeply disappointed that a restaurant with the reputation of P.F. Chang’s would allow customers to dine in such unsafe and unsanitary conditions. I will gladly return to the Manhattan Beach P.F. Chang’s location, but I will never return to the Bakersfield location again.

My whole experience here was amazing! Our waiter was amazing I’m so sad I cannot remember his name, but he made our experience great! The food is amazing & so is the vibe. They have a new item on their menu we were suggested & it’s the garlic spicey noodles. Amazing. I will most definitely be coming back.

It has been a while since we have visited and we wanted to try the lunch menu. The hostess seated us immediately and our server took our beverage order. We did order the veggie lettuce wrap to share and it was delicious! The lunch menu had many of our favorites and we enjoyed our lunch and looking forward to next time.

P.F. Chang’s in Bakersfield and their $17.99 specials Appetizer :Egg flower soup. Entree 1: Chang’s Spicy Chicken over white rice. Entree 2: Orange Chicken over fried rice. Food was tasty; both entrees were served very quickly, but the food was warm at best, and portions were big kid-size, not adult-size. Overall review: disappointed with the food — good deal, but didn’t compare to the always fresh Panda Express meals. The main reason I stopped going to P.F. Changs 10 years ago was because of mediocrity, and giving them a chance in 2025, the mediocrity of the food is the reason I won’t go back. I mentioned the mediocrity of the food and the portions to my wife, and she agreed. This place was empty when we went on a Saturday evening, and that’s pretty much unheard of for most restaurants in Bakersfield. After dinner, when I drove by the Panda Express, the drive-thru was full. I’m not quite sure what P.F. Changs should do, but serving the customer warm chicken and rice when there are only five or six couples in the whole restaurant isn’t the best business practice to keep them coming in. The staff on all levels—from the greeter, server, waiter, and bartender—were all outstanding. Just to compare, a hot three-item combo at Panda Express will run you about $14, and the food is always good, and so much easier. A sit-down dinner at a beautiful establishment like P.F. Chang’s for under $20 is a great price point; however, the food has to be at least good. Overall: 3 out of 5.

We recently dined at this P.F. Chang’s for the first time, and our experience was outstanding. With a reservation, we were seated promptly within five minutes. The menu items we selected were excellent—particularly the ribs and the exceptional peanut butter dessert, which stood out as highlights of the meal. Although there was a minor error with one of our sides (noodles were served in place of rice), the staff resolved it immediately by providing freshly prepared fried rice, ultimately allowing us to enjoy both dishes. Our evening was especially memorable thanks to our server, Angelina. She was professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant throughout the evening. She also introduced us to the rewards program—something no one had mentioned to us before—which provided a 10% discount and a complimentary order of edamame. Overall, the combination of excellent food, efficient service, and Angelina’s thoughtful care made our first visit a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning.
