Bernard Robinson 4 months agoThe experience was nice. The manager seemed a bit aloof, but maybe he is trying to build an elite type of stigma? But the servers were super nice and nice and super friendly. The food was beautiful and flavorful. The drinks were unique and matched the energy of the dishes. I would go here again.
tae fiaoto a month ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sun Chong exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, packed with flavor, and every dish came out fresh and beautifully presented. The fusion of Korean and New Orleans flavors is unique and executed perfectly. The atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of energy, making it a great spot for a date night, family dinner, or hanging out with friends. A special shoutout to Brittany and Kai for providing outstanding service. They were friendly, attentive, professional, and helped make the entire experience even more enjoyable. The gumbo dumplings and fried rice were standout dishes, You can tell a lot of thought and creativity goes into both the menu and the overall dining experience. If you’re looking for something different and memorable in New Orleans, Sun Chong is definitely worth visiting. Thanks again to Brittany and Kai for their exceptional hospitality. I will absolutely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a great vibe.
Kesha Capers 3 weeks agoWe had reservations so we only waited about 5 minutes which is great. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. The musical Playlist was definitely a vibe. Our food was really good from the ribs, to the oxtail dumplings, to the crayfish fried rice! Everything was prepared nicely. Our server was good but she disappeared a few times during our visit which was a little frustrating but all in all I rate them a 4 out of 5.
Joe Turner 4 months agoSun Chong was recommended to me and my friends, and I can honestly say it was a great recommendation!! The entire experience was really nice! The atmosphere is very beautiful, simple, elegant, a hint of fusion, and very chill! The food is absolutely next level, I really don’t think you could order a bad item from this menu! The service was absolutely fantastic! We sat at the bar and the bartender was super attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and cool as hell! The one thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the inability to provide separate checks. There were three of us and our checks got lumped in together (which isn’t an issue), but they couldn’t be separated and we couldn’t pay for what we had individually, the tab had to be split exactly three ways. That’s nothing that would stop me from coming back, it was just unexpected. If you are in New Orleans you should absolutely stop by Sun Chong!!
Jeremy Cattani 2 months agoFor our first meal in New Orleans after 5 years, my husband wanted to try “Cajun Asian” cuisine! Everything was delicious. The bulgogi (which we ordered as a bao) was something I would eat every time. The spicy BBQ pork was almost as great; a bite with all the components (pork, sticky rice, green pepper, & sauce) was perfectly balanced. We also both loved the crab Rangoon dip. We couldn’t decide which of the fusion dumplings to try, so we tried both the seafood etouffee & gumbo soup dumplings. They both seemed more Asian than Cajun, & the gumbo was more spicy, but both were beautiful & tasty. When one of the dumplings was a bit slow to come out of the kitchen, they brought out some crawfish fried rice for us to try; I wish we could get that back home. A huge shoutout for our server Dani, who was friendly, efficient, & recommended the BBQ pork as her favorite menu item. She also told us about the French Quarter festival that was being celebrated two blocks away on the riverfront. This was a perfect “Welcome back” to start our vacation. 💜💛💚
