Chase Crimi 2 months agoOh my gosh what an amazing experience! My husband and I found Miss Shirley’s on a social media post and knew we just HAD to go. The service was incredible and everything we ordered was perfect. The seasonal shrimp dumplings, steamed dragon dumplings, and bbq ribs were my FAVES!!!!! Miss Shirley has such a wonderful spirit and it was so nice to get to talk to her when she came to our table to check in with us!!! You absolutely HAVE to go to Miss Shirley’s! We can’t wait to go back!!!
Crystal Williams 3 weeks agoSo I'm different lol and I wanted to try some asian food while I was in NOLA. My main source of transportation was public transit and since the bus was running late I was nervous that it was getting very close to closing time. However, once I arrived I was welcomed right in no problem. I really liked that I got complimentary dumplings and beignets, definitely unexpected. The food also came out really fast. I will say the food was very expensive, more expensive than what I'm used to. Overall though the beef with broccoli was OK. I was expecting it to be saucer and have a thicker sauce, more the consistency of oyster sauce. But even though the beef with broccoli wasn't as expected, the service made up for it. The people who waited on me were kind and helped me with everything I needed.
Alex Nguyen 7 months agoGreat place to get dim sum around New Orleans. Well, it did have a hint of a modern fusion take on it. I did enjoy the presentation and the taste. I lined up 10 minutes before 5 PM on a Friday and there was a couple big parties ahead of me. After being seated and ordering the place filled up. The service was great and the food came out fast. My favorite was the short rib, the shumai. The shrimp dumpling, and the soup dumpling didn’t make my expectations as they were a little bit soggy on the outside in other words, the dumpling wrapper itself was soggy. Overall good portion sizes and delicious taste. I love how there is complementary potstickers and beignets. I highly recommend and I would come back.
Ambika Mittal I ARIZONA Realtor 2 months agoWhat a fantastic Chinese restaurant! Our wait at 8:30pm was an hour long but the food and service was worth the wait. The servers the hostess everyone was kind even though they were swamped, which is so rare to find. It was only the 2 of us, but we ordered 6 different items from the menu which we really enjoyed. Each one had a unique flavor. Pics attached.
Cameron McGuire a month agoWe were visiting NOLA from Dallas, and we came across Miss Shirley's on social media as a local institution. We finally made it out to the restaurant on one of our last days there, and we are so glad we did! We sat at the bar, with our bartenders Chanelle and Gabby, and had a blast. The service was nothing short of exemplary, hospitality oozing from start to finish, and full of NOLA charm. The food was quite frankly amazing. We tried as many of the dim sum dishes as we had room for, and not a single one disappointed. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have room for more. The drinks were just as good, so make sure to try them! The Legend, Miss Shirley herself, even popped into the restaurant briefly, and made a point to stop by and say hello to us! For those of you debating if getting Chinese food is on your bingo card for your NOLA trip, we cannot recommend them highly enough!
