American Angler a month agoThe Ming Dynasty was a great surprise, I was heading over to the Bluepoint Convention Center over on Willowbrook Pass to drop off the Wiggle-A-Tron I had tuned up, and the Squirt-O-Matic that only needed a slight adjustment on its rear sights. The Lady's of the Queen's Order will be pleased to have these apparatuses in working condition for the climax of the weekend's festivities on Sunday, where the whole mob of women have one huge group squishy whatever! I'll be home in Napa when that happens, and I'm thankful for that! I'm also thankful for the wonderful lunch from the Ming Dynasty Restaurant..it was amazing 5 ☆☆☆☆☆'s all day long.
HowFar Go a month agoMing Dynasty is good for the food. However, the overall dining experience is held back by mediocre service and some frustrating surprises when the check arrives. Their kitchen staff clearly knows what they are doing. We ordered two of their standout offerings: 1. Rib Steak with Mixed Mushrooms: This was exceptionally executed. The steak was tender, perfectly cooked, and the rich flavor of the mixed mushrooms complemented the meat beautifully. 2. The "One Live Fish, Two Dishes" Approach: We selected a live black cod ($20/lb) and had the kitchen prepare it two ways. This is where the culinary team shines—both preparations were fresh, expertly seasoned, and utilized the fish to its absolute potential. The Ambience & Amenities The interior design is simple and functional—nothing flashy, but perfectly fine for a casual meal or a family gathering. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as the dedicated free parking lot is quite limited, so you may need to hunt for a spot during peak hours. The Drawbacks are Service, Restrooms, and Hidden Fees! While the food hits the mark, the rest of the experience is hit-and-miss. The service lacks consistency. Staff can be attentive one moment and completely absent the next. A major downside was the state of the restroom, which was noticeably stinky and poorly maintained. The most frustrating part of the night came at the end. Despite agreeing on the $20 per pound price for the live black cod to be made into two dishes, the final bill included two completely unmentioned, mystery fees: one for $5 and another for $3. While the amount isn't massive, the lack of transparency regarding upcharges for the two-dish preparation is incredibly unprofessional.
E C (EC) a month agoFriendly servers with a smile and warm greeting. I am asian and i was not discriminated unlike in other places. The dim sum is spot on and tasted authentic oriental. The tables were spaced out properly and was not too close to each other which I liked for more privacy. The service was quick and dimsum was quickly available in carts. My party ordered pork siumai, chicken feet, har gao, lotus leaf sticky rice, shrimp balls, sesame balls.. all yummy and fresh.
Carly Coleman 9 months agoThe Chinese food was great. The beef chow mein and the my-shu tasted flavorful and very filling. The portion sizes were worth the price. The honey walnut shrimp however wasn’t great, I would not recommended that. It’s has a creamy like mayonnaise sauce on it that wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t get it again. The dish also didn’t come as much as I anticipated. This isn’t a must try Chinese restaurant, but I would order here again.
