Stopped in on my lunch break and this chicken wings & shrimp fried rice absolutely delivered. The rice was packed with nice-size shrimp, cooked just right, and full of flavor—not dry, not greasy. The chicken wings were fried to perfection: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, exactly how they’re supposed to be. Portion size was solid, food came out hot, and it hit the spot without putting me in a food coma for the rest of the workday. This is one of those low-key, reliable spots that understands the assignment. Bottom line: great food, no shortcuts, money well spent. I’ll definitely be back.

For the Chicken with Broccoli, the brown sauce was VERY bland and it was mostly oil. The brown sauce is the best part of ordering Chicken and Broccoli. You could actually see the oil separating from the sauce, the sauce was very thin, and usually it has more salt and I think also sweetness. So I guess not enough cornstarch, broth, and maybe Hoisin? It was actually Broccoli with Chicken, cause there was hardly any chicken. For the Shrimp Egg Foo Young, ehhh. Usually when I order egg foo young, there's plenty of veggies in the pancake in addition to the protein ordered. There were some green onions I think, but that was it along with the shrimp. It was also fried a little too long, cause it was dark brown on the outside. Came with sauce which was pretty heavy on the soy sauce cause it was really salty (I always use reduced sodium soy sauce cause I find it so salty). Ironically, it was the only thing that wasn't bland. The white rice was hard in the container. Lastly, the Subgum Wonton Soup. I've never had Subgum Wonton Soup, but after searching about it, I learned that it had such a good mix of meats and veggies that it seemed like a major bang for your buck. Everything was super fresh. Like look at those beautifully wrapped and firm wontons! Broccoli was still pretty crunchy, which I don't love, but that's okay. Sadly, the broth was also very bland. I did add some ginger though to flavor it. All in all, very bland meal. But still very edible, so worth buying! Charlotte doesn't seem to be the greatest location for American Chinese takeout (I'm from NY), so I researched restaurants extensively after I was disappointed by my last order. I ordered a lot of food because I needed to replenish my electrolytes and nutrients after a health issue this week, and the various proteins and veggies from Chinese food was a great way to accomplish that. A lot of people raved about this place so I rushed to place my order after reading the reviews here, but flavor-wise it totally missed the mark. Also a lot more expensive than I'm used to (on DoorDash at least—it appears the in-person pricing is GREAT). I hope it was an off day or that they add more flavor to their food because I’d love to order again. Eating the food the second day after adding some sea salt, MUCH better.

Fell into this hidden gem the other day on the way to work... This House Fried Rice was the best I've had in a long time. The honey wings were good too!! I will definitely be back.

A week ago, We were craving Chinese food but was hesitant to order any because we hadn’t found any really good Chinese food anywhere around our area. We found Fortune Wok on Google Maps and had never been here before. We ordered quite a few things for take-out. To our amazement, EVERYTHING was delicious and surpassed our expectations by a mile! We are getting ready to go back again tonight! And we are so excited because we know it’s going to be amazing!!!

They prepared my food just as I requested. The food was amazing! It was super clean and very organized. Customer Service could have been better but overall it was a great experience.
