Notes from the Sweet Spot a month ago

A Bitterweet Find: A packed house at 5:45 PM and a swift, efficient staff initially made us optimistic about this cozy shopping strip spot. Service was incredibly prompt—we were seated, given water, and had our orders taken in a flash, and the food arrived hot. Unfortunately, that is where the balance ended. We ordered the beef with string beans, Hunan tofu, and spicy eggplant. Red flags appeared immediately when we realized every single dish was drowned in the exact same generic brown sauce. Furthermore, the tofu and eggplant dishes were padded out with the exact same vegetable medley (including broccoli cut too large for a single bite). The tofu was lazily cut to inconsistent thicknesses, leaving some pieces dry and thin. Worse, the eggplant dish had very little actual eggplant; it felt more like a generic vegetable stir-fry than a showcase of the star ingredient. The lone bright spot was the beef with string beans, which was decent enough to warrant a takeaway box. While this establishment seems to enjoy high local ratings, the culinary execution simply doesn’t hold up to the standards of a larger city. The efficiency was appreciated, but the kitchen's lack of care leaves us with no reason to return.

We will definitely be coming back. The food was incredible, tons of flavor and it came out very quickly upon ordering. The waitress was very sweet and went above and beyond to make our toddlers happy. We ordered the peppered steak strip, chicken lo mein, and sweet and sour chicken. So good!

Cute little restaurant I visited on business trip. Super friendly atmosphere, great servers. Affordable prices. I got Chicken LO MEIN, was surprised how quickly it was prepared (I’d say within 3 minutes). Absolutely loved the food, large portions. If I’m back to ABQ in future, this place will be on my list to come back

Had hand sanitizer at every table! I feel like this is such a “green flag”! I bet their kitchens are clean too! This just made me so happy to see them caring about cleanliness here!

Food was delicious! Huge portions! Service was exceptional!! Hubby weighs 260 pounds! We ordered the 2 persons meal with orange chicken and chicken lomein , it also came with eggs rolls and rice! And a order of the pancake scallions. Total was only $35.00. !! They make everything fresh, hot and fast!! Definitely eat here. Huge menu!!!
