Driven past Chef Wang for nearly a decade and finally decided to give it a try! Called in an order for pickup during my last trip down to Tucson and waited for several minutes while my food was being completed (which meant my order was hot and fresh), so got a preview of what dining in would be like. Service was attentive and everyone inside was incredibly kind and respectful. Ordered Crab Rangoons and Beef Chow Fun, a couple of staples of mine trying new Chinese restaurants. Rangoons were perfectly crispy, while the chow fun had a delicious wok hei flavor. The noodles and beef were tender and the dish had plenty of onions/green onions/etc. The only thing I didn't care for - and this is a personal preference - is that the chow fun did have a little more star anise/five spice flavor than I care for. Otherwise, the food was hot, fresh, and delicious! Definitely looking forward to returning for a dine in visit to try out the full, very authentic looking menu.

Chef Wang is amazing! One of my favourite restaurants in Tucson! I grew up eating lots of Cantonese food and Chinese-American food thanks to being raised in Canada and having a father from Hong Kong. Sichuan food was something I didn't really try until I was older but Chef Wang is what made me love it. One thing I really struggle with in Tucson is the lack of authentic Asian food. But this place is an absolute gem. It may not be the same type of cuisine as what I grew up with but it is so good that it more than satisfies my cravings when I want tasty Chinese food. Not to mention, the service here is always great. The staff always greet you brightly when you arrive and leave, and they are very attentive. That's definitely strange for a Chinese restaurant but it's a rare case where it's not just good service to make up for mediocre food LOL. I highly encourage stepping out of your comfort zone and not ordering only from the "Fusion" section of the menu. My two favourite dishes are the Sauteed Fried Cabbage and Sichuan Style Pork and Bamboo Stir-fry, I order these every time I visit.

The food leans toward oily and strong tasting to match the community but it's pretty authentic sichuan-style Chinese food. Ordered the Sauerkraut Fish (Picked Cabbage Fish stew), Shrimp Fried Rice, and Stir Fried Eggplant. Enough to feed 3 people. Do note that each main still comes with rice. The fish was super good and tender and the sauerkraut soup was very authentic. Shrimp fried rice was good as well but the stir fried eggplant was disappointing, flesh was soft but the outer layer was very tough. Will recommend their other vegetable dishes such as the stir fried cabbage, or seasonal vegetables. Order the dishes family style and expect to share them. Generous portions for its price, homely restaurant vibe, would recommend for a good Chinese place in Tucson.

Ordered takeout for dinner. Food arrived still hot and overall was fulfilling. Generous portions all around and dishes good for sharing. Fried rice and wide noodle both tasty though tasted average overall and without signature. Chicken and vegetable dish very spicy and flavorful. Black sesame buns not for us as the paste was not as sweet as we expected. May be a better experience as dine-in with food fresh from the kitchen.

There’s a certain kind of food that doesn’t just taste good… it rewires your standards. 😂 That’s the danger of truly good food — once you’ve had flavor made with balance, heat, texture, soul… suddenly regular food feels emotionally disappointing.
